The jury of the Short Film Competition of 47th Moscow International Film Festival, which includes the Russian actress Yulia Khlynina, the Italian director, producer and actor Fabio Massa and the Chair of the Jury, the Turkish actor, director and scriptwriter Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, shared on their expectations from the films participating in the competition.
Fabio Massa: "We will try to reach an agreement, although it is always not an easy task, when it comes to feelings and emotions. My work has been judged and scored many times, although I do not like these words, but now I am here on the other side of the barricades, which I like a lot. As for me, I started as a short film director and understand very well what it takes to tell a story in such a short format with a modest budget".
Yulia Khlynina: "My colleagues have formulated this quite accurately and comprehensively that we should start from our feelings. I am now in such a period when in short films for me it is very interesting to look for some puzzle, mystery, not to find an answer to questions, but to pose questions which I hope the participants of the competition will help us feel through".
Erkan Kolçak Köstendil: "It will be quite a challenge for us to select the best film, after all this is not a math problem, but we will try to find a common decision. As mostly young directors participate in the short film competition, I want to learn something new from them. Short films are a glimpse into the future and I am interested in the method which directors use to express their viewpoint. The participation in a competition of Moscow International Film Festival is already a win for young filmmakers. And we will name the best one, the film, which will touch our hearts the most".
