"I made a film about doctors who swim against the current": the director Natalya Lobko about the documentary film Sinara

The director Natalya Lobko introduced the film Sinara participating in the Documentary Film Competition of 47th Moscow International Film Festival.

The main character of the film is Sinara, a gynecologist surgeon. Women in despair come to her from across the country. If she does not help, who will? And Sinara always helps. To save the ability to be a mother for her patient, the doctor performs risky surgery giving women the happiness of maternity.

Natalya Lobko: "In 2015, I and my husband, who is a doctor, were sent for business to Ufa where they built the first large regional hospital, a branch of Mother and Child chain. They offered me to work there and to make promotional videos. I grew interested in the subject and visited all doctor conferences. As a person far from medicine, first I was shocked but then I grew interested very quickly, especially with the topic of pre-term babies. As a result, I made the film Ne v Srok (Out of Term), which caused a great response. I realized that this was interesting and started thinking of a full-length project, which Viktor Skubey supported. And I made a film about doctors who swim against the current, when others tell people that nothing can be done, a doctor turns up being ready to have a try to do something. Sinara, the main character of the film, is such a doctor, with other similar examples added to our story. All doctors in this film are individuals who make a real difference with their actions. And this was the main discovery for me while I was working on this film.
